Three colourful down to earth mountain cottages: Faraway, Orange and Eric’s Place, as well as 8 campsites are all off-grid, private and surrounded by mountains, while a starry sky looks over them at night.
The cottages are equipped with solar geysers and gas back-up for hot water, cooking and refrigeration.
Occasionally we also offer Dinner Bed & Breakfast. A unique African-Swiss cuisine, prepared on the open fire and naturally served by candlelight. The morning air filled with the aroma of freshly-ground organic coffee, wood fired bread and the chant of the birds will provide a perfect start for an enjoyable day out in the mountains.
Faraway Cottage
This is our most remote farm cottage, amongst fynbos and protea covered hills. This cosy down to earth, rustic and off-grid cottage (No cellphone nor WiFi signal!) sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms. Inside the open fireplace keeps you warm in winter, while outside the bush bathtub invites you to cool off in a truly unique setting including a pit braai, hammock and uninterupted views of the valley. Welcome to the end of the road and beginning of your dreams.

Orange Cottage
It’s our mountain cottage on the hill overlooking Faraway cottage in the distance. Rustic but well equipped with all to make your stay a memorable one. The cottage is off-grid (no electriocity), yet if required we can beam a limited WiFi signal across. It sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, features a open fireplace inside, a hammock on the veranda, while a hot water bush bathtub outside is a great way to spoil yourself. As always, the hiking trails start right on your doorstep!

Eric’s Place
Named after Jurgen’s granddad Erich Reschke, who came here in the late 1970’s, Eric’s Place now offers spacious self-catering accommodation for up to 8 people in three bedrooms and two extra beds in the lounge. With its fully equipped kitchen, a large veranda overlooking Simonskloof it is ideal for family gatherings, workshops or just a couple looking for some space. A little herb garden and outside bath tub under the stars, two inside fireplaces to keep you warm and cosy in winter add to the rustic charm.

Camping
Down to Earth, spacious and off-grid (No power points) campground. 8 private sites spread out around a 300 year old oak tree along a little mountain stream. Each site has some shade, grass patches and their own water taps (mountain spring water) just as nature intended. Eco-friendly clean compost toilets and gas heated hot showers for ablutions. NOT suitable for ordinary caravans, but 4×4 trailers, rooftop tents and normal cars can easily reach it. Swimming is just a short walk away. Rock pools a bit further.
